Blush and bronzer work together to lift, sculpt and brighten your complexion. Blush brings colour to the cheekbones; it's what gives skin that fresh and energised glow. Bronzer can be used to create a sunkissed glow and to define - target the hairline, under the cheekbones and jawline and across the bridge of the nose, adding warmth and gentle definition.
Formula is a personal choice. Liquid and cream formulas melt into skin for a natural, dewy look and suit drier or more mature complexions beautifully. Powder formulas give buildable colour and more traditional application that wears beautifully on oilier skin and in warmer weather. Our bronzers blend into skin for a seamless warmth and give ultimate control for contouring.
Blush & Bronze Questions Answered
Cream or powder blush, which is right for me?
Cream and liquid blush gives a dewier, skin-like finish and suits drier or more mature skin beautifully. It’s also ideal for a ‘no makeup’ look as it’s effortless to blend with our lighter coverage complexion products. Powder blush is easy to build, giving you ultimate colour control, and tends to wear better on oilier skin and in warmer weather. Many people have both and choose based on the day.
Where do I apply blush for a natural look?
Start by gently pressing your fingertips to your cheeks to find your cheekbone. Apply blush to the cheekbone, blending upward and outward toward your temple. Keep it soft and let it fade into the skin at the edges. Less is more; you can always build up, but it's harder to take away. Don’t bring it too close to your nose - imagine a vertical line down from the pupil of your eye and try not to blend the colour past this point.
How do I use bronzer without looking muddy?
Choose a shade no more than two tones deeper than your skin, and look for a neutral or slightly golden undertone rather than an orange-based one. For a naturally sunkissed look, apply in the shape of a soft number three on each side of the face (temple, cheekbone, jaw), and blend thoroughly. Build slowly.
Can I wear blush on its own, without foundation?
Absolutely, and it's one of the fastest ways to look brighter and more awake. A cream or liquid blush pressed straight onto bare or moisturised skin gives a fresh, natural glow with no other makeup needed. Add a touch of lip colour in a similar tone to tie the look together.
Which blush suits my skin tone best?
Fair skin glows in soft pinks, peaches and corals. Medium skin comes alive in warm roses, berries and terracotta. Deeper skin tones suit richer reds, plums and bronzed oranges beautifully. When in doubt, pinch your cheek lightly and notice the colour that appears; that's your natural flush, and shades close to it will always flatter.
